PALAWAN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL BIMP – EAGA
PALAWAN BUSINESS COUNCIL
Warmest greetings to all our invited Guests and Speakers, Our Friends and Allies from other Organizations of Business and Fraternal Orders, Fellow Officers, Newly accepted Members of PEDCO BIMP – EAGA, My own Colleagues from the Multi Media Sector, Mga Ka Pedco, Ladies and Gentlemen…
I stand before you today as an outgoing Chairman of the Board for almost two (2) years most especially during the height of global pandemic.
And now as the Pedco BIMP EAGA mandated President for the year 2023.
Simple recollection to note of our incumbency during the last difficult couple of years did not deter us or somehow we have proven that no Covid -19 outbreak can stop our determination to be a part of a struggling Society.
We, inspite of the odds, We’re able to perform and obliged ourselves to continue the mission and common objectives of this prestigious Economic Council.
To mention a few accomplishments jointly with President Arnaldo Lim Tan and Fellow Officers, we were able to and by very own personal resources, our “Community Pantry” was highly regarded as one of the longest in our community here in Puerto Princesa City.
We have regained the true identity of PEDCO by way of registering the same before our governmental institutions, came up with our organizational website the www.
pedcobimpeagapalawan.com, and some of our municipal chapters became active in localized Economic and Tourism Summit and Agri Tourism Development such as Pedco Bebc Calamianes, Pedco Bebc El Nido, Pedco Bebc Narra, Pedco Bebc Brooke’s Point among others, and the latest in our family is the emergence of Pedco Bebc Aborlan of which, they have this model farm in goat raising, livestock and envisioned fo transform the municipal locality into the “Food Basket” of Palawan.
And, in the aspects of our continuing goal and responsibility to our neighboring Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia and Malaysia as our East ASEAN counterparts, through the indefatigable leadership and consistent nurturing of our Chairman Emeritus and Country Director And former Board Member Cipriano CE Barroma is still progressing.
Even during the trend of having the only means of on line communications, our organization was able to well represent as one from among the economic councils of the Philippines vis a vis the Mindanao Development Authority during the BIMP EAGAs investment and international forum of Palawan’s investment and business proposals.
Yours truly has been chosen by the Chairman Emeritus to deliberate during that time, with the participation of Singapore, New Zealand, South Korea etc via on line web presentation.
My first exposure to the international community in various economic councils of our counterpart regions.
Now that we are almost there to achieve our common goal after the global downfall trend, the challenge and expectation is becoming so high.
Human as we are belonging to this economic chamber as mandated by its Constitution and By laws with our existing Code of Ethical Standards as as your President, Seeking His Divine Providential Guidance and with you full support fellow elected officers and our members in good standing, I humbly accept the challenge.
We will advance our desirous commitment to be more active and participative to our responsibilities and duties in each and every economic community of Puerto Princesa City and our beloved Province of Palawan.
And also to our East ASEAN regional counterparts.
May I respectfully pose this challenge also to my fellow officers and mga Ka Pedco that, ours is not only a matter of simple response to the call of our duties, but rather a sense of COVENANT in order for us to exert more efforts and prudence in all of our undertakings.
Our primordial role is to promote and pump prime avenues of rightful economic concept and directions as co- partner of our government local and national institutions.
We will create an avenue of Mutual Cooperation from among our Economic Development Peers, Master Support and Potential Collaborations and most of all to establish more business matchings, summit, forums and the like capable of producing positive results that would generate employment, income generating investments, and the common denominator to all of these is HARDWORK.
We have to work harder the best way we could.
365 days in a year is too short for a hardworking and growing PEDCO BIMP – EAGA, however, it is too long a time for a non -working organization.
In closing allow me to thank my colleagues from the multi media who made this grand event known and shown to the world, the Palawan Vanguard Online News Agency, RMN multi media networks, Radio Bistado Online News In Western Visayas, the Start Media in Brunei Darussalam and our correspondents Ka Pedco from Kita Kinabalu and to all our local and regional media partners, PEDCO BIMP – EAGA is highly appreciative of your support and commitment.
Mahatma Gandhi once declared “ the resources of the world is so vast for man’s needs, but it is only too little for man’s greed “.
Also today in our 16th grand induction ceremony and fellowship solidarity ….
We have recipients of awards and commendations as our monumental way to recognize our deserving Ka Pedco in acknowledgement of their achievements in various fields and excellence.
Congratulations for this year awardees and the Honor to be given to the immediate families of our departed Ka Pedco.
Long live PEDCO BIMP EAGA!
