I DO ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE

December 18, 2022 was so memorable and indeed heart pounding, since I knew the the full responsibility to be carried out is Herculean. I took my solemn oath along with the officers of PEDCO BIMP EAGA articulating to the effect our sacred duty to further advance the objectives of this prestigious economic council which was duly established sixteen (16) years ago.

The expectation is so high in a sense.

But considering that I have served this council as its Chairman of the Board for almost two (2) years, after having started from the ranks as a bonafide member in good standing, I do believed with stronger determination not only I but we are ready to tread the pathways in the nearer future.

PEDCO BIMP EAGA is not only gearing towards a harmonious and better partnership with the local governments here in our locality, however, the common interest to work hand in hand with our East ASEAN counterparts essentially they are more exciting than worrying.

No more reluctance, enough for the orthodox mentality the time is so ripe to go go go in moving on in achieving the end goal.

And what are these?

Primarily in accordance with our existing Constitution and By-laws, Basic Internal Rules and the Code of Ethical Standards, promoting solidarity and mastering the strength of the organization is a solid must to do.

To amplify the sound policy directions and to forge a more visible and potential alliances with the local authorities. That way and foremost, we can be assured of a more working dynamism from among the PEDCO BIMP EAGA ‘s connectivity for mutual respect and understanding as a positive conduit for development and not as an adversarial element in our community.

Primarily, we are not here to simply advise nor give an inputs for economic progress and prosperity but we are in essence as a working partner to any quest for development that would redound to the best interest of PPC and our beloved Province of Palawan.

We would never lose any sight of PEDCO’s main mission. The very foundation why this came into being by the founding incorporations including the real founder and author, the indefatigable Chairman Emeritus Panoy Barroma.

Another crucial steps to be undertaken is our monumental commitment to the EAGA region.

How to harness and the demand of refinements to have a common chemistry with the business economic councils of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia. Malaysia and its peripheral territories who are also active in pump priming various avenues of creating unimaginable economic opportunities, investment promotions through business matchings and forums, the valuable exchange of cultural and tourism aspects and the possible Import export conglomerations based on the conduct of East ASEAN diplomatic relationship.

And if we are just only imagining, in itself this is mind boggling.

But the question is, do we have well founded determination to be capable of realizing all these programs under the given circumstance and situation ? The answer is as long as we are united as a council, back up with the desire to work harder, the same is doable.

Now at this juncture, and by the green light provided and as mandated by our governing laws of conduct and as the duly elected officers for 2023 the team PEDCO BIMP EAGA from the originators in the Island paradise of Palawan, we are up to take up all the challenges ahead. May our Lord God Almighty guide and bless us as we are about to begin the journey.

Long Live PEDCO BIMP EAGA !
